Beschreibung
Christiane Ludwig-Körner describes in her book Und sie fanden eine Heimat (And they found a home) the life of some of the women who worked in childrens homes founded and run by Anna Freud and Dorothy Burlingham during World War II. Alice Goldberger, Sophie and Gertrud Dann, Manna Friedmann, Ilse Hellmann, Anneliese Schnurmann and Hansi Kennedy had as young women escaped the Holocaust and dedicated themselves to children who had suffered the same fate. Under the common umbrella of the War Nurseries, they offered children a home and thus realised the concern of psychoanalysis to help people in need.
