The present research is oriented to the design of a strategy for the development of essential managerial skills with a leadership focus, which acquire great relevance in Higher Education Institutions, and in the improvement of their executives, within which executives play a determining role. The skills are linked to the leadership of its executives, and highlight their characteristics. The strategy was validated with the use of qualitative and quantitative methods in order to fulfill this objective. Empirical and theoretical methods were taken into account, which made it possible to determine the current state of the skills and their preparation in the development of the executives, as well as the possibilities of contributing to the improvement of their characteristics, through specific activities and exercises that contribute to these. It was possible to establish the level of development and transformational leadership as the representative style from which the strategy is proposed. Leadership as a climax within the hierarchy of the constructed pyramid represents a significant contribution.

Bachelor in Toerisme, afgestudeerd in juli 2013 (Faculteit Toerisme van de Universiteit van Havana, Cuba), Master's degree in Tourism Management, afgestudeerd in oktober 2016 in dezelfde faculteit en bereikte de wetenschappelijke graad van Doctor in de Onderwijswetenschappen in november 2019 op voorstel van de Universiteit van Havana.
