Lighting in the industrial areas is the deliberate use to achieve practical or aesthetic effects for smooth work progress. Also the energy conservation is playing major role. Proper control of lighting can enhance the task performance, improve the appearance of an area, or have measurable energy conservation. Energy conservation is the effort to make less of an energy service. This can be achieved either by using energy more efficiently (using less energy for a constant service) or by reducing the amount of service used (for example, by driving less).

Dr Mahendran N, PhD, received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Anna University-Chennai in 2011. Currently, he is working as a Professor and PG Coordinator in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Saintgits College of Engineering at Kottayam, Kerala. His research interests are Electrical machine and its control.
