Citrus trees and fruits are subject to a number of diseases in the field as well as storage incited by fungi, bacteria and viruses of which the fungal diseases predominate. As a result, heavy crop losses are experienced by the orchard owners and also by the 'Fruit Canning Industries' it plays an important role in the economy of the farmers of these areas.
