This academic Festschrift is dedicated to H.S.H. Hans-Adam II, the Reigning Prince of Liechtenstein and contains exclusive original essays by international scholars and experts, who are in one way or another closely associated with the European Center for Austrian Economics Foundation (ECAEF) and the Liechtenstein Academy Foundation (LAF). The contributions not only confirm the profound international appreciation of Prince Hans-Adams ideas and keen interest in the humanities at large. They also express our high esteem for his unwavering commitment to classical liberal thought.

Kurt R. Leube is a native of Austria and resident of California, USA. He studied law and economics and is Professor of Economics (emeritus) and Research Fellow (emeritus) and at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He specializes in Austrian Economics, social philosophy and the history of economic thought. Currently he serves as founding Academic Director of the European Center of Austrian Economics Foundation, a leading public policy think tank based in Vaduz, as well as Academic Director of the Liechtenstein Academy Foundation. Professor Leube holds several recurrent guest professorships, among others at LUISS Guido Carli in Rome. He is editor-in-chief of the bilingual book series ECAEF - Studien zur Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsordnung, published in Vaduz. His numerous publications include his classics The Essence of Hayek and The Essence of Friedman.
