This book includes papers on intelligent expert systems and sustainability applications in the areas of data science, image processing, wireless communication, risk assessment, healthcare, intelligent social network mining, and energy. The recent growth of sustainability leads to a progressively new era of computing, where its design and deployment leverages significant impact on the intelligent systems research. Moreover, the sustainability technologies can be effectively used in the progressive deployment of various network-enabled technologies like intelligent sensors, smart cities, wearable technologies, robotics, web applications and other such Internet technologies. The thrust of this book is to publish the state-of-the-art research articles that deals with the design, development, implementation and testing of the intelligent expert systems and also to provide an overview of the sustainable management of these systems.

Dr. Prof. Subarna Shakya is currently Professor of Computer Engineering, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Central Campus, Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, Tribhuvan University, Coordinator (IOE) and LEADER Project (Links in Europe and Asia for engineering, eDucation, Enterprise and Research exchanges), ERASMUS MUNDUS. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Engineering from the Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine, 1996 and 2000, respectively. His research area includes government system, computer systems& simulation, distributed& cloud computing, software engineering& information system, computer architecture, information security for e-government and multimedia system.
Prof. Valentina Emilia Balas is currently Full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Romania. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is the author of more than 250 research papers in refereed journals and international conferences. Her research interests are in intelligent systems, fuzzy control, soft computing, smart sensors, information fusion, modeling and simulation. She is Editor-in-Chief to the International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and to the International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), an Editorial Board member of several national and international journals and an evaluator expert for national, international projects and Ph.D. thesis. Dr. Balas is the director of Intelligent Systems Research Centre in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad.
Haoxiang Wang is currently the director and a lead executive faculty member of GoPerception Laboratory, NY, USA. His research interests include multimedia information processing, pattern recognition and machine learning, remote sensing image processing and data-driven business intelligence. He has co-authored over 60 journals and conference papers in these fields on journals such as Springer MTAP, Cluster Computing, SIVP; IEEE TII, Communications Magazine; Elsevier Computers& Electrical Engineering, Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, Optik, Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems, Journal of Computational Science, Pattern Recognition Letters, Information Sciences, Computers in Industry, Future Generation Computer Systems; Taylor& Francis International Journal of Computers and Applications and conferences such as IEEE SMC, ICPR, ICTAI, ICICI, CCIS and ICACI. He is Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, Multimedia Tools and Applications, MDPI Sustainability, International Journal of Information and Computer Security and Journal of Medical Imaging and Health Informatics, Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience.
Dr. Zubair A. Baig received the B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum& Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 2002, M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in 2008. Currently, he is working in the division of Cyber Security from the School of Information Technology, Faculty of Sci Eng& Built Env, Deakin University, Australia. He has authored over 55 journal and conference articles and book chapters.
