Beschreibung
On account of the need to spotlight the importance of various issues which characterize human existence, the United Nations and its specialized agencies as well as other institutions deemed it necessary to institute world or international days so as to raise awareness of the said issues. In this connection, a multitude of these days are being celebrated or commemorated each year.In Cameroon, just like in any other developing country, the existence of these days should be considered as an opportunity to seriously tackle societal problems at the grassroots and other levels. In other words, such days provide a glaring opportunity to go beyond their classic celebratory or commemorative activities (routine activities) in order to handle some excruciating problems inherent in the Cameroonian society. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not seized by the stakeholders concerned.
