Beschreibung

This book discovers information about Diplomacy and Foreign Policy of CARICOM in which it was formed in 1973 after the founders had enacted the Treaty of Chaguaramas. The Caribbean Community and Common Market was established to replace the Caribbean Free Trade Area which had failed in its mission to develop policies in the region pertaining to labor and capital. Caricom was established on August 1, 1973, in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago (Chaguaramas (pronounced, in the local English dialect, "shag-gah-rah-muss") lies in the North West Peninsula of Trinidad west of Port of Spain; the name is often applied to the entire peninsula, but is sometimes used to refer to its most developed area). The Treaty of Chaguaramas established the Caribbean Community and Common Market, later known as CARICOM. It was signed on July 4, 1973 in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago. It was signed by Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.
