Beschreibung
This book named Antibacterial Study of new metal chelate complexes is highly recommended for students of undergraduate chemistry students and postgraduate researchers. This book mainly focuses on explaining both theory and methodology to synthesize coordinated complexes. In the present study, two ligands ( m-aminobenzoic acid and Schiff base Salicylidene-m-aminobenzoic acid with their complexes were synthesized and characterized by many technique such as UV- visible spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, C.H.N.S. analysis, NMR spectroscopy, melting point, and molar conductivity. In these complexes, the ligands behave as monodentate, bidentate and tridentate. It coordinates to the metal ion centers through either nitrogen atom of the azomethin group, or oxygen atom of either phenyl group or carboxyl group. Biological activity of the ligands and their metal complexes were tested against both Gram positive and negative bacteria. It is hoped that this book will foster interest and contribute to the advancement of coordination chemistry synthesis.
