Beschreibung
With the increased demand of implants in this modern era, any bony deficits of the jaws or alveolar bone resorption following tooth extraction can be challenging for predictable implant placement as adequate alveolar bone volume and promising architecture of the alveolar ridge are essential to achieve aesthetically and functionally ideal prosthetic reconstruction following implant therapy. Among various methods, Guided bone regeneration is a successfully employed method in dental practices to increase the volume of the host bone at sites chosen for implant placement. It is a reconstructive procedure which not only includes ridge augmentation but also various bone regenerative procedures which mainly employs the use of various membranes and grafts.
