Dietrich Wöhrlin studied music and instrumental teaching in Los Angeles, Berlin, Ghana and Costa Rica. Alongside his activities as a drummer and percussionist, Dietrich has made a name for himself as a teacher and lecturer. He has been holding lectures, seminars and classes at music colleges and schools since 1997, in subjects such as stylistics, pedagogics / methodology / didactics, and body percussion. He is in demand as a workshop leader, band coach, study aid author and composer of pieces and etudes. He has been developing a private, state-recognized academy of world music, the "Global Music Academy" in Berlin, with like-minded colleagues since 2005.
