WRAPPED - TIED - STACKED Christo (1935-2020) and Jeanne-Claude (1935-2009) were almost certainly one of the 20th century's most remarkable artist-couples. They realized impressive temporary projects at prominent public places and in doing so they expanded our unterstanding of what art can be. With around 130 original works dating from six decades, the Würth Collection now owns one of the largest collections of Christo works in the world, thanks in part to a very personal relationsship between the collector Reinhold Würth and the artist-couple. To mark the 90th birthday of Christo and Jeanne-Claude - they were both born in 13 June 1935 - Museum Würth is presenting a cross-section of their 60 years of creative activity, whith is documented in this publication.

Reinhold Würth 1935 in Öhringen geboren. Mit 14 Jahren trat er als erster Mitarbeiter und Lehrling in das von seinem Vater Adolf Würth 1945 gegründeten Unternehmen, eine Großhandelsfirma für Schrauben und Muttern, ein, die heutige Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG. 1954 übernahm er den Familienbetrieb im Alter von nur 19 Jahren nach dem frühen Tod des Vaters. Abschuss des Geschäftsjahres unter seiner Leitung mit einem Jahresumsatz von 80.000 Euro. "Ich wollte schon immer wissen, was hinterm Berg und ums Eck ist" - das Zitat von Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, Vorsitzender des Stiftungsaufsichtsrats der Würth-Gruppe, beschreibt seine Risikobereitschaft, mit der er die Unternehmensgruppe zum Weltmarktführer im Handel mit Montage- und Befestigungsmaterial machte. Heute beschäftigt die Würth-Gruppe in über 400 Gesellschaften in mehr als 80 Länder mehr als 88.000 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter bei einem Umsatz von 20,4 Milliarden Euro im Geschäftsjahr 2023.
