Generation of large scale power from coal is an economic option. This is specifically true for countries like India having large coal reserves. However, adverse effect on the environment in this process is presently under critical scrutiny. Generating power efficiently from coal in an environmentally benign way is of prime importance. Clean coal technologies are the outcome of this effort. In this work a few advanced clean coal technology based power generation options has been conceptualized. Thermodynamic modeling for these schemes has been developed. Both energy and exergy analyses have been carried out using developed models to estimate the performance of schemes to find optimum solutions, if any
