Beschreibung

This book examines the factors that determine housing needs, demand and supply. It investigates whether there are differences in the housing needs of household applicants based on location. It proposes an instrument which can be used for predicting future levels of housing demand and supply. An overview of the factors which affect housing needs, housing demand and housing supply are described. An empirical study was used in identifying and examining variables such as tenure, overcrowding, affordability, quality, housing vacancies, preferences and tastes of households, levels of housing demand and supply, profit motive of housing developers and property price. Secondary data for the study were also obtained from credible sources. The book comes up with significant findings upon which valid conclusions and useful recommendations are made. This book will therefore be of significant value to policy makers, government agencies and parastatals in charge of housing, housing developers, and students studying and researching in the areas of construction, housing and development studies.
