Beschreibung

This book explains the effect of different tolerant stress osmolytes foliar applications on rice physiological responses and total rice yeild under water deficit conditions (below optimum conditions) by using some osmolytes compounds such as Glycinebetaine (Gb) at 1 & 4 mM, Spermine (Spm) at 0.25 & 0.5 mM, Sucrose (Suc) at 1 & 4 mM and distilled water as control started at 43 days after sowing with 10 days intervals. Plants received four time of foliar applications of each osmolytes;. Three levels of water 5 cm (L1), 3 cm (L2) and 1.5 cm (L3) above soil surface with four days intervals were applied at 45 days after sowing. It was concluded in this study that, application of osmolytes especially Gb and Suc under L2 level is recommended, for these treatments enhancing the yield with lower consumption of water. If we take the water value in our consideration and from commercial and economical points of view, the importance of usage osmolytes especially, Gb at 4 mM will be recommended during rice cultivation under moderate water deficit conditions.
