'Arbitration Agreement and Private Law. Legal Nature and Effects of the Arbitration Agreement' The legal nature of the arbitration agreement is still controversial. The author establishes a method for the qualification of procedural contracts, whereby it becomes apparent that the effects of the arbitration agreement determine its legal nature. The effects, in particular the disposal and obligation effects, are determined comprehensively and the arbitration agreement is classified as a contract of procedural nature.

Andreas Mayr studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen sowie an der Universitetet i Oslo. Parallel arbeitete er mehrere Jahre als studentischer und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Bürgerliches Recht, Internationales Privatrecht und Rechtsvergleichung von Professor Dr. Martin Gebauer, wo er im Anschluss an die Erste juristische Prüfung seine Dissertation verfasste. Das Referendariat absolvierte Andreas Mayr am Landgericht Heidelberg. Seit 2017 ist er als Rechtsanwalt in Stuttgart tätig.
