The Compendium on Roads is meant as an aid to non-engineering professionals. It would be useful particularly for those in the media and professionals of allied background who work within the built environment. People of clerical background often have difficulty either expressing themselves or putting together a report dealing with technical issues relating to roads and transport. This book attempts by way of simple language and illustrations to improve understanding of engineering issues encountered in everyday life.

The author is a civil engineer with specialty inhighway engineering from Moscow, Russia. He is currently engaged as a researcher at the Building and Road Research Institute (BRRI) in Kumasi, Ghana. His major interests include road design, construction and pavement safety analysis. He is also a keen road safety advocate.
