Autorenportrait

Robert G. Marx is an Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery specializing in knee and shoulder surgery, and Vice Chair of Orthopedic Surgery for Faculty Development at the same hospital . He is an assistant team physician for the New York Rangers and an orthopedic consultant for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is the deputy editor for sports medicine for the Journal of Bone& Joint Surgery. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and 5 books, including three relating to ACL injury and surgery. Dr. Marx has been voted as one of the Best Doctors in New York by New York Magazine for multiple years.

Norimasa Nakamura is a Professor at the Institute for Medical Science in Sports at Osaka Health Science University and the Global Center for the Medical Engineering and Informatics at Osaka University. He is also an orthopedic surgeon at the Osaka University Hospital, specializing in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. Hisresearch focuses on joint-tissue repair, particularly the regeneration of cartilage, ligament, and meniscus. He has published over 150 peer reviewed scientific papers.

Volker Musahl is a Professor at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine as well as the Department of Bioengineering at the Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on the anatomy and biomechanics of the ACL, clinical examination of the knee and rotatory knee laxity, surgical techniques for ACL reconstruction, and meniscus transplantation. Dr. Musahl has been a member of ESSKA since 2000 and has been active in the ESSKE program committee.

 Peter Verdonk specialized in orthopedics at the Municipal Hospital Roeselare and UZGENT, and he qualified in knee surgery in Leuven and Lyon. He is an expert in orthopedic surgery of the knee joint with a focus on prosthetic surgery as well as the repair of cruciate ligaments, ligaments, cartilage and meniscus through soft tissue reconstruction and arthroscopy.  Author of more than 100 international publications, he is an active member of numerous international scientific associations.

Seth L. Sherman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri. He completed his residency at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, trained by the team physicians for the NY Giants, NY Mets, and NY Knicks. During his sports medicine fellowship at Rush University in Chicago, Dr. Sherman was the assistant team physician for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox.
