Beschreibung
The Antifascist National Liberation War is a very important event in the Albanian history of twentieth century. The war brought freedom, aroused hopes for a better future, instilled dignity and pride for the majority of Albanians, who took the right and fair decision in a time of great ordeal for the whole world. The National Liberation War strengthened the international position of Albania. It aligned Albania and its people on the right side of the history and by the side of the United Nations, which emerged as victorious in their war against fascism. If it was not for this position that Albania had taken, it would most certainly risk being fragmented by the end of World War II. Albanian people had to face not only Italian and German invaders during WWII, but even the exterminating policies of Serbian and Zervas chetniks in Kosovo and Çamëria. Despite the relations set up among the political forces, the direction and conduct of the war by Albanian Communist Party during the war, Albanian Antifascist War endeavored to achieve Albanias liberation and the national union of all Albanians within its borders as internationally recognized in 1913 and beyond them.
