Beschreibung

In its second term from 2018 to 2020, the urban initiative project "Stadtkuratorin Hamburg" centered around the theme of digitality in the context of art in the public sphere with the title HAMBURG MASCHINE. This publication documents, updates, and expands the program developed and curated by Dirck Möllmann. The artists invited by him have created image spreads about their projects and have talked about their work with dialog partners of their choice. The artistic contributions are complemented with essays by international authors who - loosely based on Möllmann's concept HAMBURG MASCHINE - deal with the topics of digitality, urbanity, work, care, pandemics, collectivity, economy and the all-connecting Internet in different ways. The artistically designed volume aims to provide impetus for thought and action in times of digitalization of urban life, which is progressing all too hastily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With contributions by Erik Bordeleau, Michael Dudeck, John Gerrard, Christian Huck, Francis Hunger, Nina Kalenbach, Oliver Leistert, Isabell Lorey, AnneMarie Maes, Britta Peters, Martina Raponi, Marius Skroce, Sue Spaid, Axel Stockburger, The Silent University (Abimbola Ayodele, Salah Zater), Kathrin Wildner, Inga Wellmann. The book will be published in English.
