Beschreibung
Interest in the study of reactions of the Pd(II) ion with amino acids, peptides and other ligands of biological importance began with the discovery of Rosenberg et al, that certain platinum complexes exhibit carcinostatic activity. Due to the similarities in the general chemistry of PtII) and Pd(II), palladium analogues are studied instead of, or as well as, the platinum compounds. Complexes of [Pd(dipn)Cl]Cl and Pd(dien)Cl]Cl were synthesized and characterized. Stoichiometry and stability constants of the complexes formed with various biologically relevant ligands (amino acids, peptides, DNA constituents and dicarboxylic acids)and the effect of chloride ion concentration, dioxane and temperature on the stability constant of formed complexes are investigated.
