Deforestation is becoming one of the most serious problems changing land cover in Ethiopia. It has geographical and temporal dimension as the area covered with forest in 1987 before 28 years, was different from that of forest area in 2015. Most of the areas had been changed to agricultural lands on which different cereals produced through clearing and burning of forests, shrubs and grazing lands; the population grows unabated, forests are being cleared at alarming rates. Major adverse effects are erosion, sedimentation of streams, rivers and dams, shortages of wood products, destruction of wild life habitats which affects agricultural productivity in terns it affect economical social well being of the society.

Mr Kero Alemu has obtained his MSc degree from Dillauniversity June 29, 2016 in Geography & Environmental Studies/specialization in Sustainable Natural Resource Management, since then he has been working at Wolaita Soddo University as a lecturer in Agricultural College by Natural resource management department.
