Beschreibung

This research is structured into many chapters and analysis the various aspects of gender relation within the Benue Trough. The research explores the probability of transforming conflict situation within the Benue Trough from violent processes to avenues for appropriate mediation and peace building. Furthermore, this research analyzes the relationships between conflict and peace building and explores how such variables could be engaged in handling the protracted skirmish conditions within the country. Similarly, the research explores the various conflicts by surveying arms proliferation, and how the Nigerian state's inability to domesticate the Arms Trade Treaty is principally generating the proliferation of small arms from various quarters in Africa into Nigerian social space and how such arms are engaged in the various conflict situations in the Trough. It is clear that the main aim of the research is to explore avenues for the transformation of some of these conflict situations from its contemporary violent settings to a more serene one by seeking for ways of inculcating peace building processes within this geographical spread. A must read for Africanist and conflict researchers
