The ancient city of Asmara is the capital of Eritrea and its largest settlement. Its beautiful architecture was rediscovered by outsiders in the early 1990s. Peter Volgger, Ph.D, studied philosophy, history and art history at Innsbruck University. Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture (Innsbruck University) and Visiting Professor at the Institute for Architecture and Planning (Liechtenstein University). Since 2012 he has conducted research work in Eritrea. He is a member of the Research Centre for Migration and Globalisation in Innsbruck.
