The Conference on European Democracy (EuDEM) brings together practice and theory, thus bridging the gap between politics, administration and science. Only the exchange of these views will put all interested parties completely in the picture regarding current political challenges. Politics today is confronted with a multitude of crises, challenges and hidden agendas. Europe needs policies that deliver answers in the fields of prevention and management of crises, and it needs these answers in a comprehensible time frame that allows politicians to proactively shape our common future and security. The EuDEM is a platform for engaged discussions and exchange of views. It is an example of another cornerstone of the European idea, freedom of speech. The 2015 conference gave a broad variety of answers to the question Good Governance Based on a Common Bedrock of Values - Providing Stability in Times of Crisis?.
