The subject of dyingpublications on this subject are mainly found in philosophy, theology and psychology. They mainly follow a tendency to empathize with the dying person's situation. Instead of following this scientific tradition of phenomenological-hermeneutical understanding, this book takes a neurobiologically inspired empirical-analytical approach: The author shifts the interest from empathy with the dying to the afterlife and advocates a palliative approach to the dying. An aside deals with the handling of dying during the COVID-19 crisis.
